As I've said on here before a few times I've regularly been DJing at Tulane's radio station for a while, pulling out random 7"s and CDs that look interesting. Usually it tends to be about 4 garage songs and then one latin number. That's all fine and dandy, but I miss doing shows that really mattered to me, like my old surf show I was doing at WESU
So it's time to bring it back. one problem: WTUL isn't as loose about their "specialty genre" programming. I tried applying for a surf show in the fall but couldn't make the meeting. My e-mails asking if there was something else I could do were ignored. So here I am DJing while Tulane students are out on break, doing two shows per week. A few weeks ago I sent out another e-mail about how I'd like to do a surf show. Again, ignored. I figure it's time for a little civil disobedience, so while it will be slightly on the down-low, I'm bringing my show back come hell or hurricane water (looking forward to the show title making more sense now). The catch is.... I only have this slot until the Tulane students come back, which is until the 16th I believe. That's two shows, and after that we'll see what happens.
I'm going to post the playlist here afterwards, but if you want to see old ones or whatever, here are some links

Hey ElMonstroPorFavor in your post at SurfGuitar 101 you listed the song Good Bad ,and The Ugly to Mustang Voodoo Surf.I think what you meant was Mustang Lightning.I just thought I'd point that out.
The Radio show sounds cool as all get out.Sorry I missed it.You mentioned playing 7" records. It got me thinking about my huge collection of 7" surf/instro records that I have, and how I need to get them ripped into MP3 format.I actually have a CD burner, but Rock(AB)illy Kid is using at this time as his in home CD player. The cheap bastard has been Borrowing it for the last year and half.I can't bring myself to remind him that he needs to buy his own damn CD player,so he can give my Burner back so i can actually use my machine to rip some of my collection.I think the whole posting of out of print 45's is something nobody has really tapped into.At least in the Blogger world we all know. This brings me to my real reason for this comment.I think you should post some of those records that you have. Most of these bands in the surf/instro genre put songs on their 7"'s that are not available anywhere else.Talk about a gold mine baby!I know once I get my Burner back I'm gonna get busy, and make a whole lotta people happy. So give it thought, and tell me what you think.
Pretaining to Mustang Lightning, I do that in my head all the time. Whoops.
Anyway, I agree, though every time I search for the 7"s to see if somebody has them up already I either see them selling it somewhere (even if it's in Sweden or something) or some guy on Youtube has beat me to it. Certainly there are a few that the internet hasn't really caught on to yet, and I'll probably get around to them at some point.
Also, I do all my rips just by plugging my receiver into my sound card's line in. That might be easier, I don't know.
